Children who exhibit early childhood social and emotional issues may go unrecognized in routine health screens but are often of great concern to parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators. Often, there are no clear cut categories to adequately describe and characterize behaviors and target interventions for children with early childhood social and emotional issues. This Media Theatre presents three family stories focusing on “disruptive”, “withdrawn”, and “high energy/sensory” children. By viewing these family stories and participating in discussion, parents, educators, and health providers become more familiar and competent in screening, assessing, and providing effective early intervention for children with early childhood social and emotional issues.
