The Resident as Teacher: Building Skills for Residency and Beyond

This interactive seminar introduces educational principles that are directly applicable to the teaching and supervision of junior residents and medical students. The relevance of these principles to teaching patients, families, and communities about child and adolescent psychiatry topics is also highlighted. Current senior-level trainees and early career psychiatrists lead breakout sessions demonstrating selected teaching techniques, and training directors of large child and adolescent psychiatry training programs offer their insight and experience about opportunities for residents to develop skills as teachers during training.
