The Successful Transition to Practice is a member services forum for child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and early career psychiatrists (ECPs) to explore practical issues such as finding a job, developing business and economic skills for practice, and applying administrative and leadership skills to career development. Participants participate in two of three workshops that will reflect important dimensions of the transition to practicing as an early career psychiatrist including:
1. Leadership for ECPs: new challenges, new solutions
2. Negotiating a great job offer or promotion
3. Building work/life balance in the transition to practice
Following the three workshops, there is a question and answer session with a diverse panel of child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, early career psychiatrists, training directors, and division chiefs from across the country.
