Theodore Shapiro, M.D. has been Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Medical College(1972-1976) and Weill Cornell Medical College (1976-2002). He has a background in psychopharmacological research and is currently a Co-Primary Investigator on a study of time-limited dynamic psychotherapy for anxious children and adolescents. He has consulted with and treated a wide range of disorders of children and adolescents since 1961 and is a certified psychoanalyst and former editor of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
