The Successful Transition to Practice is a member forum for child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and early career psychiatrists to explore practical issues which characterize the transition from trainee to attending psychiatrist. The 2011 member services forum introduces core competencies in the transition to practice through introductory lecture, panel discussion, skills workshops, and a networking roundtable. The forum provides trainees and early career psychiatrists with a new skill set to approach the developmental transition and create a valuable opportunity to network with peers and mentors from across the country. Specific aims of the program include improving the following skill sets:
1.    Leadership and administration;
2.    Business and medical economics with a special emphasis on private practice and CPT coding;
3.    Personal growth and humanism; and
4.    Transition to a new personal and professional life as an ECP.
