This Workshop introduces the newly developed AACAP Toolbox. The Toolbox is the product of collaboration between the AACAP Pediatric Psychopharmacology Initiative (PPI) and the AACAP Consumer Issues Committee. It is comprised of an easy to use set of downloadable forms and instruments to aid practitioners in the systematic evaluation of their patients. The rationale for what is included and what is not included is reviewed. Participants observe the ease with which they can access the Toolbox from the AACAP Web site; walk through the assessment and monitoring of a case using the Toolbox; and develop a plan to use the contents of the AACAP Toolbox in their practice setting. A secondary objective is to develop methods for a pragmatic approach to the epidemiologic study of outcomes in community-based psychiatric treatment settings.
