The recruitment and retention of child and adolescent psychiatrists in rural areas presents unique challenges. This CCB includes a discussion of several key issues: 1) ways to structure your practice to meet the needs of your family while meeting the overwhelming need/demands in rural area; 2) sources of support available to rural child and adolescent psychiatrists and the importance of a support network; 3) contract negotiation; and 4) alternative service models that can provide quality care in rural areas.
