This Clinical Case Conference examines two cases of clinical work with high-risk adolescents. Disruption and breakdown of psychological development during an adolescent’s leaving home is relatively common. Participants gain understanding of the developmental and psychodynamic issues governing maturation in late adolescence, and the vulnerabilities and developmental risks of leaving home. The panel covers psychodynamic and family issues involved in an adolescent’s preparation and readiness to leave home.
