The psychiatric disorders that can occur after a child or adolescent receives a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) pose major challenges to community re-entry and to quality of life. This Workshop presents a primer on the research findings related to pediatric TBI, psychiatric disorders, symptoms and research findings related to pediatric TBI, and education outcomes. Video presentations of parents and children are used to allow participants to note the symptomatology that is in evidence on the videos to better identify classic brain injury related disorders and understand typical educational interventions. In addition, participants gain awareness of models of collaboration between psychiatrists and educational specialists to enhance school reintegration and school function.
