Rupert Isaacson seeks out alternative treatments for autism with his son in an effort to not just manage his son’s symptoms but to find a way to develop a relationship with his son. The search led the family on an adventure to Mongolia. The film encourages us to look beyond our scientific knowledge base, to take a more global perspective in establishing goals for these children, and to consider how a more holistic perspective can have a positive impact. Attendees discuss how to work collaboratively with a family and complementary/integrative providers, as well as how to assess these providers and hold a helpful dialogue with parents and patients.
