Expanding a Clinician's Toolbox: Using AACAP's Quality of Evidence Tables to Make Treatment Recommendations
The Pediatric Psychopharmacology Initiative (PPI) Quality of Evidence Tables developed by AACAP and the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) are two valuable tools available to child and adolescent psychiatrist. Presenters provide an overview of the rational for the development and principles of use for GRADE and PPI. Specific medications are used as examples to demonstrate how GRADE may be used to make treatment recommendations. Once familiar with GRADE and PPI clinicians improve prescription practices to optimize patient response and reduce the risk for adverse outcomes.
