Sin Nombre (Nameless): A Tale of Gangs and Illegal Immigration

Sin Nombre is an adventure thriller that increases understanding of the psychosocial needs of immigrant children, both documented and undocumented, with a particular focus on the relationship between the United States, Mexico, and other Latin American countries. Sayra, an adolescent girl from Honduras, and El Casper, fleeing his gang life in El Salvador, join forces to embark on a journey to illegally immigrate to the United States. Together they ride the train lines to Texas, relying on faith, trust, and street smarts to survive their perilous journey. The film illustrates social issues of illegal immigration, human trafficking, and gang violence. Participants gain awareness of the impact of trauma-driven immigration in the development of emotional and other psychiatric disorders and learn how to implement recommended interventions.
