Workshop 5 (ticket)
Parent Training Workshop, Part 1: Understanding the Development of Childhood Problem Behaviors and Incorporating Positive Parenting Strategies Into Clinical Practice
Parent behavioral management training (PBMT) is considered one of the most effective interventions in the treatment of problem behaviors in children and adolescents who have internalizing and externalizing behaviors, as well as autism spectrum disorders, learning problems, and intellectual disabilities. Participants learn the mechanism underlying the development of childhood problem behaviors and the core principles of PBMT; and how to incorporate those principles into a single, theoretically straightforward and effective intervention that can be incorporated into a child’s daily routine to reduce power struggles and improve parental monitoring and supervision.
