Workshop 30 (ticket)
Contract Negotiations: Specific Concerns for Women Early Career Psychiatrists
Early career women child and adolescent psychiatrists learn strategies for successfully negotiating contracts in diverse practice settings, such as private practice, community agencies, and universities. Both professional and personal needs are explored as key considerations for career advancement and satisfaction. Participants are able to apply all of these strategies and resources to their own contract negotiations. The importance of mentorship in contract negotiations and professional development is discussed. Participants are invited to complete a personal inventory, a template for a competitive curriculum vitae, and an application for the AACAP Mentorship Network.
