Animal Assisted Therapy has been used for decades in the art of psychotherapy. A presentation is given about the use of animals in a therapeutic way in a child and adolescent psychiatrists’ practice. The major focus is utilizing a therapy dog in an office, residential treatment center, and hospital. Specific time is used to address infection control, credentialing, and training of the animal.
