Prevention of Bullying: An Urgent Public Health Task

Bullying is a very serious psychosocial stress factor linked to health problems and death, due to suicide, accidental injuries, or homicide. This form of abuse or maltreatment occurs along the lifespan, and its prevalence has been established in at least 60 countries in different continents, representing more than 250 million adolescents. Child and adolescent psychiatrists have a unique public health role in the implementation of primary and secondary preventions of health risks linked to bullying. In this Workshop, attendees learn the tools needed to prevent, detect, and treat the health risks linked to bullying.
