The parenting of autistic spectrum and mentally retarded children requires special skills and attributes. In this long-standing Special Interest Study Group, participants learn to recognize that a variety of valuable resources exist for promoting their children’s development and how to develop increased skills in dealing with those professionals who assist their children.
