The intent of this Workshop is to increase participants’ awareness and understanding of various types of learning disabilities, and enhance their ability to incorporate this information in the diagnostic and treatment process. The Workshop is designed to enhance the ability to interpret behavior, processing, and functioning within the context of a learning disability. Participants learn to engage in a collaborative process that allows the integration of the psychiatric and educational assessment findings in a manner that leads to effective treatment planning. Attendees gain an understanding of the characteristics and presentation of various types of learning disabilities and the interplay between learning and psychiatric disorders.
