Workshop 22 (sold out)
Eight Guides to Trauma Treatment

This Workshop presents a comprehensive clinical approach to the treatment of traumatized children, adolescents, and their families. The approach is adaptable to the specifics of any particular type of traumatic experience. It is sequential, coherent, and organized so that it can be applied by clinicians, and by community responders and clinicians collaboratively. A review of the types of traumatic events children undergo is presented with particular attention to the wide range of psychological, behavioral, and familial consequences of trauma. Participants learn common effects of the range of traumatic experiences of children, adolescents, and their families. The eight-stage response to traumatic stress among children, adolescents, and their families is discussed. Finally, participants focus on the elements of trauma informed care and the treatment of complex traumatic stress.
