This Workshop focuses on broadening the participant’s understanding of Asperger’s Disorder through discussion of diagnostic criteria, behavioral assessment and interventions, educational strategies, and social skills/competence training. Best practice models of functional behavioral assessment, and how to utilize them in school and community settings, are presented. Behavioral interventions are described and case examples shared in order to show how to implement them in home, school, and community settings. Educational strategies are presented in a practical implementation method for supporting students. Social skills/competence development is explored through case examples and videotapes in order to discuss basic assumptions, and models of social skills development.
