Feeding disorders are common. Approximately 25% of all children, and 80% of children with developmental delays, are diagnosed with these disorders. This Clinical Case Conference explores the complex issues involved in treating pediatric feeding disorders. Effective feeding in children is affected by physical development, coordination of movements in the head, neck, face, and trunk, and relational factors with caregivers. The program highlights the elements of a successful feeding team using three case examples that illustrate typical patients and clinical presentations. Presenters outline the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children with feeding disorders, highlighting the important role of child and adolescent psychiatry in each step.
