This Workshop presents, in a lively experiential way, Anishinaabe, Ojibew life-guiding principles and ancient healing methods. These ancient healing techniques are of value and can lessen the distress and pain of children and adolescents of all races. Participants learn innovative ways to work with natural materials in order to teach children and adolescents how to use ancient methods to help heal from trauma. Life-guiding principles can help prevent mental illnesses and promote healthy development. Participants have the opportunity to make or use a prayer/meditation stick, fear bundle, medicine bundle, medicine wheel, and grandfather healing stone; and learn how to use them with children and adolescents to help relieve anger, fear, sadness, and shame. Having learned the Ojibwe life principles and healing methods, participants have new tools to effect change in youth.
