Youth in the United States now spend nearly all their waking hours using some form of digital media. Health promotion and disease prevention efforts must begin using these media for education and outreach to adolescents. Child and adolescent psychiatry is no exception. This Workshop instructs participants on the use of digital social media for organizing and delivering preventive mental health services to adolescents. Topics include the state of science for school-based suicide prevention programs, the use of digital media by adolescents, and the applications of digital media for adolescent mental health. The Workshop uses hands-on instruction and role-playing.
