In its eighth year, this SIG takes on the needs and interests of the participants, providing a mechanism for exploring and learning about available resources and educational materials for children with autistic spectrum disorder and other serious developmental disorders. Past topics have included how to obtain services early in life, arranging for long-term care and services once parents are no longer available, financial considerations, impact upon siblings and other family members, integration into the community, help with clarifying diagnoses, and advocacy issues.
