Religion and spirituality have always been important in the lives of children, adolescents, and families, but until recently have been overlooked in psychiatric practice and education; however, increasing numbers of related research studies of interest to child and adolescent psychiatrists are being published in the psychiatric and mental health literature, highlighting the increasing importance of understanding religion and spirituality when assessing and treating patients. This Institute is designed to increase the knowledge and clinical skill of child and adolescent psychiatrists in this area. All presenters use real-life clinical vignettes to highlight clinical relevance and application of their material.
