This Special Interest Study Group addresses the current clinical and research gaps in the field of untreated posttraumatic stress. Strategies to overcome the challenges of conducting efficacy trials are addressed. Clinicians, researchers, and neuroscientists are encouraged to collaborate and take action to create innovative research programs aimed at healing the debilitating effects of trauma on communities, families, and school systems. Potentially, specific studies for researchers, clinicians, and neuroscientists are developed and participants feel empowered to develop trials through increased knowledge of research design and implementation issues.
