This Workshop provides attendees with a greater understanding of the social challenges faced by teens with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and the current evidence base for interventions addressing these concerns. Child and adolescent psychiatrists learn to evaluate the efficacy of commonly utilized social skills interventions used by school and community providers. The strengths and weaknesses of these interventions are discussed. The Workshop focuses also on the Multi-Media Social Skills Project for Teens, which involves the extensive use of video modeling. Materials from the intervention are utilized to demonstrate how common deficits faced by teens with ASD are addressed. Results from an empirical examination of the Project are presented.
