Anxiety disorders are one of the most prevalent psychiatric conditions in childhood, but in children from age 5 to 7 years it can be difficult to recognize and diagnosis. Through the use of video taped sessions and active demonstrations, attendees learn how to appropriately assess anxiety disorders in children under the age of 8 years; effectively utilize evidence-based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies to treat young anxious children; and develop approaches to support parents as they manage their child’s anxiety.
