ABCs of Advocacy: Becoming an Effective Advocate for Children’s Mental Health

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s (ACGME) systems-based care core competencies require that residents develop skills to advocate for quality patient care and care systems. The objective of this Workshop is to engage trainees and early career psychiatrists in advocacy on behalf of their patients and their profession. Participants learn about legislative, media, and coalition advocacy; and become effective long-term resources and advocates for children’s mental health issues.
