Tourette's Disorder and Related Disorders
Despite three decades of modern research, Tourette’s disorder and related disorders remain substantial sources of impairment over a person’s lifespan. In this SIG, participants come to better understand the controversies surrounding the role of infections and autoimmune mechanism in the assessment and treatment of Tourette’s disorder and related disorders; explore advances in the behavioral treatment of tic disorders; become familiar with recent advances in the pathogenesis of Tourette’s disorder and related disorders; and explore the natural history of the disorder as a guide to treatment planning.
