Workshop 26 (ticket)
An Evolution of Inpatient Care: Programmatic Changes in an Academic/Community Centered Model of Care Toward the Reduction of Restraint, Seclusion, and Inpatient Recidivism
There has been a shift in the paradigm of inpatient care models. This Workshop teaches effective methods for system change in an inpatient setting. Participants learn effective approaches for the reduction of coercive methods of treatment such as seclusion and restraint, including a collaborative model of inpatient care, learn how to implement changes to program models, taking into account the need for shifts in program philosophy across disciplines, learn key concepts to develop programing for standard short impatient stays, with a focus on assessment and treatment planning, and learn how to reduce recidivism by using transition planning for post-discharge care.
