Master Clinician Christopher J. Kratochvil, M.D.: Developing Clinical Research and Clinician Researchers—What’s Happening?

Dr. Kratochvil is professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Kratochvil is a seasoned clinician researcher. In this CCB, he shares his extensive experience conducting clinical research in child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as other areas; and discusses the current environment and opportunities for the clinician researcher. He holds multiple research related positions, including associate vice chancellor for the Clinical Research at UNMC, coordinating clinical research initiatives and resources; chief medical officer for UNeHealth, developing clinical research collaborations and infrastructure for the not-for-profit partnership; and medical director for the Nebraska Biobank, a campus-wide repository linking DNA samples using a de-identified version of the electronic health records, and its Clinical Research Center.
