Successful Transition to Practice for Early Career Psychiatrists

This Member Services Forum provides child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and early career psychiatrist an opportunity to learn about common challenges that the transition from training to practice may present. Attendees gain an understanding of the range of career options and professional roles available to child and adolescent psychiatrists; strategies for starting and developing an office based practice; and negotiation skills useful in academic settings and private practice. Ethical issues related to career development and transition to practice are discussed. Early career psychiatrists may connect with potential mentors from their geographic area.
