Workshop 4 (ticket)
The Maudsley Centre for Interventional Paediatric Psychopharmacology Model of Care in Complex Neurodisability and Neurodegeneration
Clinicians learn to better assess and manage psychopathology when encountering challenging behaviors in children and adolescents with complex neurodisability and neurodegeneration. This Workshop focuses on understanding psychopharmacological interventions, “adequate dosing with minimum side effects,” treatment resistance, treatment of rare and serious side effects, and treatment in cardiac disease for high-risk children and adolescents with complex neurodisability. Modifications necessary to psychological interventions to increase treatment concordance in severe physical illness and complex neurodisability, as well as mood and anxiety in autism spectrum disorder patients, are discussed. Web-based health monitoring for both clinical and research purposes is demonstrated.
