Workshop 28 (sold out)
Psychiatric Assessment of the Very Young Child in the Clinic

Early childhood is a critical time for prevention, identification, and intervention to promote healthy development. Improving the skills of practitioners who are seeing young children referred for mental health and behavioral issues is critical. This Workshop introduces assessment tools, like the DC: 0-3R™ Axis (emotional and social functioning) and the AACAP Practice Parameter for the Assessment of Infants and Toddlers, and explains how to use them. Participants experience the “nuts and bolts” of the psychiatric evaluation of young children through video case presentation and discussion of a child in the context of two different caretakers.
