This Workshop provides a broad overview of the mission, vision, and current training and career development programs at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). To increase the number, quality, and diversity of CAM researchers, NCCAM provides funding for an array of research opportunities. Child and adolescent psychiatrists learn about overall training and career development programs in CAM research; learn the mechanics of effective grant writing; and understand what is required to be accepted through discussion of several sample grant applications by the co-chair of the NIMH New Research Approach for Mental Health Investigators.
