Retirement: Different Strokes for Different Folks
Although retirement is not inevitable, it is a step that most child psychiatrists face as they age. There is no "right" way to handle retirement. How one approaches retirement depends on the individual and the circumstances present at retirement age. Five child and adolescent psychiatrists reflect on their own transition to retirement and how they solved the psychological challenges that are part of this important change in roles and identity.
