Somatic Symptoms Disorders: DSM-5 and Treatment Updates

This Workshop reviews the evolution of differential diagnosis and management of somatoform disorders, factitious disorders, and malingering; and clarifies the revised categories in DSM-5, including the rational for these changes. It also updates participants on clinical treatment approaches for the various somatic symptom disorders.  A better understanding of the pathophysiology of these disorders and the available evidence-based treatments for their management can potentially improve clinician efficacy in this challenging domain.
