Community-Based Systems of Care
From the beginning, child and adolescent psychiatrists have been integrally involved in systems of care and their roles are increasingly diverse. This SIG explores the recent trends in systems of care and updates participants on evidence-based interventions. Systems of care approaches to infants and young children, and integration of mental health services in schools, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems are presented. The role of consultation to pediatricians and the child and adolescent psychiatrist’s role in systems of care are discussed. Participants are encouraged to discuss their experiences and query each other regarding potential solutions to specific problems.
