Workshop 5 (sold out)
Traumatic Brain Injury: Psychiatric and Educational Diagnosis and Management
Pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI) poses major challenges to community re-entry and to quality of life. This Workshop explores the research findings related to pediatric TBI, demonstrates, through a typical case report, psychiatric and educational problems that can be ameliorated by effective collaboration between the psychiatrist and educational specialists, presents vignettes describing various complications of pediatric TBI; and provides an opportunity for open discussion. Attendees gain increased knowledge of phenomenology, risk factors, and treatment of psychiatric disorders associated with pediatric TBI.
