Workshop 28 (ticket)
Learning Disabilities: Implications for Psychiatric Practice

This workshop increases awareness and understanding of various types of learning disabilities and enhances the ability to incorporate this information in the diagnostic and treatment process. Participants gain understanding of the psychoeducational diagnostic process and learn to critically evaluate the content, conclusions, and recommendations presented. An understanding of the collaborative process necessary to translate the integrated assessment into effective treatment planning and service provision in the school is essential for child and adolescent psychiatrists to work effectively in schools.
