Women in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry: Managing Conflict in the Workplace
Women entering the field of child and adolescent psychiatry at a time when they may also be starting families requires special mentoring in order for them to make the most practical and fulfilling career choices. This SIG provides female child and adolescent psychiatry residents and early career psychiatrists the opportunity to interact with female leaders in child and adolescent psychiatry and develop a mentor network to provide career guidance. Participants learn about factors that may play into work-related conflict and how to resolve them in an effective manner; and identify major challenges and considerations of choosing a research oriented career pathway, entering private or community practice, or choosing an academic pathway.
