Tourette's Disorder and Related Disorders
This SIG provides a forum for discussing recent advances and dilemmas in the understanding and treatment of Tourette's syndrome and related disorders. Discussion includes how to assess frequently contradictory recommendations regarding treatment of co-morbid tic disorder and ADHD; evaluation of claims made for alternative treatments; ideas regarding the role of infection in tics and obsessive compulsive disorder; new developments in genetic research and their potential therapeutic implications; and the role of behavioral approaches in treating neuropsychiatric disorders. Sharing clinical experiences and research findings advances the level of clinical practice and stimulates new research questions and approaches.
