Master Clinician: Regina Bussing, MD, MSHS: Disruptive Preschoolers
Regina Bussing, MD, MSHS, is professor of Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Bussing is well known for her health services research focused on quality of care and access to care for ADHD across the age span, as well as for her intervention research for young children with ADHD. She is particularly interested in improving interventions for preschoolers with ADHD, with the goal of reducing unnecessary polypharmacy exposures and choice of inefficacious psychosocial interventions for this high risk group of children. In this CCB, Dr. Bussing discusses empirically supported psychosocial interventions for preschoolers with ADHD and outcomes that were achieved using Parent Child Interaction Therapy as sole ADHD treatment for this age group.
