CPT Coding: Development and Implementation for Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists
Major changes in psychiatric CPT codes better recognize the medical and interactive complexity of child and adolescent psychiatric practice, but child and adolescent psychiatrists must influence the process of code development and reimbursement changes in the future. Optimal coding is discussed to improve individual use of exiting codes, but most of the session concentrates on code implementation and development with recommendations on how AACAP members can become involved in code development; and discussion of needed feedback mechanisms to evaluate what is working and what is not within various practice styles and settings.
