Workshop 35 (sold out)
Integrated Treatment of Adolescents With Self-Destructive Behavior
This Workshop familiarizes participants with psycho-educational, skill-building, and process-oriented groups designed to address trans-diagnostic deficits found in the treatment-refractory, self-destructive adolescent population with complex psychiatric illnesses. Materials presented were originally designed for use in an intensive inpatient treatment setting but can be translated for use in an intensive outpatient or traditional outpatient setting, as well. The program material presented includes introductory level acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mentalization-based treatment. The hope of integrated treatment is to increase a young person’s ability to utilize relationships to manage distress.
